The landscape of emergency medical services is constantly evolving, demanding higher levels of expertise and specialized skills, particularly when it comes to transporting critically ill patients. The Critical Care Emergency Medical Transport Program (CCEMTP) stands as the premier educational solution designed to meet this growing need. This intensive program is meticulously crafted for paramedics and nurses seeking to excel in the demanding field of inter-facility critical care transport, equipping them with the knowledge and confidence to manage complex medical scenarios during high-risk transfers.

Why CCEMTP is Essential for Critical Care Transport Professionals
Traditional paramedic and nursing education, while foundational, often lacks the specialized training required for the unique challenges of inter-facility critical care transport. These transfers involve patients with acute and complex conditions requiring a higher level of monitoring, intervention, and specialized knowledge beyond the scope of standard pre-hospital care. The critical care emergency medical transport program bridges this gap, providing “post-graduate” level education that standardizes training and elevates the quality of care during these crucial transports. CCEMTP ensures that clinicians are not just competent, but confident in their ability to handle critical patients moving between hospitals, specialized centers, and extended care facilities.
A Cutting-Edge Curriculum for Today’s Transport Environment
The CCEMTP curriculum has undergone a complete redesign to reflect the current demands of critical care transport across ground, air, and fixed-wing operations. This updated program emphasizes advanced-level knowledge, building upon participants’ existing understanding of foundational sciences like Chemistry, Pharmacodynamics, and Anatomy & Physiology. The curriculum is rigorously developed to cultivate true Specialty Care Transport Providers. Its strength lies in its comprehensive review process, having been 100% peer-reviewed by industry leaders and physician-reviewed, ensuring its relevance, accuracy, and alignment with best practices in critical care transport.
Who Should Participate in the Critical Care Emergency Medical Transport Program?
The critical care emergency medical transport program is uniquely designed to foster collaboration and understanding between paramedics and nurses, bridging the traditional divide between pre-hospital and hospital-based care. This collaborative approach results in a specialized care provider who possesses a holistic understanding of patient care across different settings. This comprehensive perspective is invaluable in delivering the highest standard of care to critically ill patients during transport.
To ensure a high standard of participant readiness, all CCEMTP course locations require participants to hold a current paramedic or nursing license. While specific prerequisites may vary by location, commonly recommended backgrounds include prior coursework in Biology, Pharmacology, Chemistry, and Anatomy & Physiology.
