Located in the heart of Chicago, the Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center delivers an exceptional four-year, ACGME-accredited training experience. Our program is meticulously designed to cultivate well-rounded radiologists through comprehensive, in-depth education and extensive hands-on experience across the full spectrum of radiologic techniques and practices.
Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, a 517-bed tertiary care facility, serves a diverse patient population, both adult and pediatric, from across the Chicagoland area. As a Level 1 trauma center, one of only four in the region, and home to a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, the highest designation in Illinois, our residents are exposed to a uniquely broad range of medical and surgical cases. With an annual volume exceeding 100,000 examinations, residents gain invaluable experience in every subspecialty, including dedicated rotations in pediatrics and obstetrics/gynecology.
Our commitment to resident education is paramount. Our dedicated faculty radiologists provide personalized instruction through one-on-one teaching, structured daily didactic lectures, and engaging case conferences. Beyond clinical training, residents are encouraged to participate in scholarly activities, including research projects and quality improvement initiatives, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
Reflecting the evolving standards of the American Board of Radiology certification, our recently updated curriculum ensures residents receive a robust education across all radiology subspecialties. To further enhance pediatric expertise, our program includes three months of training at the renowned Lurie Children’s Hospital, the preeminent pediatric teaching hospital in the region. Additionally, a month-long rotation in Nuclear Medicine at Loyola University provides specialized training in this critical area.
