We at the Amsterdam Adult Day Health Care Program are delighted to announce the resumption of visitations, in accordance with CMS and NYSDOH guidelines. Understanding the importance of connection with loved ones, we have opened our doors for visits without prior appointments. However, to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our participants and staff within our Amsterdam adult day health care program, we kindly request all visitors to adhere to the following health and safety protocols.
Essential Guidelines for Visiting Our Program
To protect everyone within our Amsterdam adult day health care program community, please refrain from visiting if you or anyone in your immediate household is experiencing any of the following:
- Symptoms of COVID-19
- A positive COVID-19 test result, or close contact with someone who tested positive within the last 14 days
- Current isolation and/or quarantine based on local Department of Health recommendations
We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring a healthy environment for our participants.
COVID-19 Testing Requirements for Visitors
For the safety of all individuals at our Amsterdam adult day health care program, all visitors are required to present a negative COVID-19 test result to gain entry. Please take note of the following testing guidelines:
- Rapid Antigen Test: If presenting a Rapid Antigen Test, it must be negative and conducted within 24 hours prior to your visit. For instance, a Sunday visit necessitates a test no earlier than Saturday.
- PCR Test: If presenting a PCR test, it must be negative and conducted within 48 hours prior to your visit. For example, a Sunday visit requires a PCR test taken no earlier than Friday.
- Frequent Visitors: For those visiting multiple times a week, proof of a negative test is required as frequently as possible, with a minimum requirement of every 3 days.
- On-site Testing Option: Should a visitor lack valid proof of a negative test within the stipulated timeframe, our Amsterdam adult day health care program can provide an iHealth OTC COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Test for self-administration at the facility.
Exemptions to Testing Requirements
Recognizing special circumstances, certain visitors are exempt from the aforementioned testing requirements:
- Compassionate Care Situations: Visitors providing compassionate care, hospice services, end-of-life care, or visiting residents experiencing significant mental, physical, or social decline are exempt from testing.
- Enhanced PPE for Exempt Visitors: In cases of exemption, visitors will be required to wear additional Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as deemed necessary by our facility personnel.
- Emergency Medical Services: Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel are not subject to visitor testing requirements.
While not mandatory, we strongly encourage all visitors to consider COVID-19 vaccination to ensure a safer and more worry-free visit with your loved ones at our Amsterdam adult day health care program. Please feel free to discuss COVID-19 vaccines with our staff for further information.
Please be aware that this open visitation policy is subject to change based on updates from CMS and/or NYSDOH, or in response to facility COVID-19 outbreak protocols. We thank you for your understanding and look forward to welcoming you to the Amsterdam Adult Day Health Care Program soon.
