Understanding Apollo Career Center Program Offerings
What kinds of career programs are available at Apollo Career Center?
Apollo Career Center boasts over 20 dynamic programs designed for high school juniors and seniors. A significant number of these are College Tech Prep programs, which provide a robust foundation for further education at technical colleges or universities. Importantly, many programs offer the chance to earn college transfer credits, giving you a head start on your higher education journey, provided you meet the specific program requirements.
How many academic credits are required to enroll in Apollo Career Center programs?
To be eligible for admission to Apollo Career Center programs, students must have accumulated a total of 8 high school credits. These credits must include 2 English credits, 2 Math credits, 1 Social Studies credit, 1 Science credit, and 2 additional state-mandated credits. Verification of these credits through your high school transcript is necessary before the start of the Apollo school year.
Applying to Apollo Career Center Programs
When is the ideal time to apply for Apollo Career Center programs?
The application window officially opens on Initial Enrollment Day, the second Tuesday in February. To ensure your school counselor can submit your transcript to Apollo by this date, you can complete the online application beforehand. Applications are accepted online even after this date and up until the beginning of the school year. However, be aware that some popular programs may have waiting lists if you apply later in the process.
Why is selecting a second program choice beneficial when applying to Apollo Career Center?
When you apply, you have the option to select two program preferences. If your first-choice program reaches its capacity, having a second choice ensures you are placed in an open program and added to the waiting list for your preferred program. Should a spot become available in your first-choice program, and you are next on the waiting list, you will be notified about the change. Program changes are generally possible up to the end of the second week of the school year.
Balancing Apollo Programs with High School Life
Can I still participate in extracurricular activities like band at my home high school while attending Apollo Career Center programs?
Absolutely! Apollo Career Center encourages students to remain active in extracurricular activities at their home high schools. Scheduling accommodations can often be made, such as early release to return to your high school for band or other end-of-day classes, or late arrival to accommodate morning activities. Participation in after-school sports and extracurriculars with your home high school is also readily possible. It’s crucial to discuss and plan your schedule with your high school counselor before starting at Apollo Career Center to ensure a smooth integration of your commitments. (Concurrent College Credit Program (CCP) participation alongside Apollo attendance is also manageable).

Please contact your home high school for detailed information regarding bus routes and arrangements. Alternatively, students are welcome to drive to Apollo. Yes, Apollo Career Center programs require students to wear uniforms. This is a key component of the professional environment and safety protocols within our career technical programs. Uniforms are intended to simulate real-world workplace experiences and ensure student safety in program-specific environments. Uniforms are ordered through an online store accessible on the Apollo website. Students accepted before the school year starts are expected to be in uniform by September 14th. Students accepted within the first two weeks of school must be in uniform by October 1st. Non-compliance with uniform deadlines may result in being sent home or daily grade reductions for professionalism.
It’s highly recommended to utilize the sizing charts provided for each uniform item in the online store to determine your correct uniform size before ordering. Please note that uniform purchases are final, with no exchanges or refunds.
