The grant presentation took place at the AVON 39 The Walk to End Breast Cancer event in New York, marking the successful conclusion of its 13th season. Participants in the walk collectively raised an impressive $8.7 million. These crucial funds are dedicated to accelerating vital breast cancer research, enhancing access to critical screening, ensuring timely diagnosis and effective treatment, and raising essential awareness about breast cancer.

Sheri McCoy, CEO of Avon Products, highlighted the immediate positive impact of the fundraising during the event. She announced 11 new grants to deserving local breast cancer organizations, with CancerCare being among the distinguished recipients. This ensures that the funds raised through AVON 39 directly benefit communities, including the Greater New York area.

Ms. McCoy expressed deep gratitude towards the participants of AVON 39, stating, “As this year’s AVON 39 series concludes in New York, we are incredibly thankful for the 3,500 dedicated ‘39ers’ who united this weekend with a shared mission: to eradicate breast cancer.” She further emphasized the significance of the grants, “The grants awarded today are a crucial step towards achieving this mission. It is an honor to present these funds to the dedicated doctors, researchers, and medical professionals who will utilize them to transform and save lives. We extend our sincere appreciation to every participant, as your ‘39’ has been instrumental in making this possible!”

The dedication of AVON 39 participants, combined with the immense generosity of the Avon Foundation for Women, empowers CancerCare to expand its mission of delivering help and hope to everyone impacted by cancer. Through a comprehensive range of support services, including counseling programs, financial assistance grants like AvonCares, informative educational resources, and vital community programs, CancerCare remains steadfast in its commitment to assisting individuals in navigating the emotional, practical, and financial challenges that cancer presents.
