What is the CARES Housing Assistance Program Nevada (CHAP)?
The CARES Housing Assistance Program (CHAP) is designed to support residents of Clark County, Nevada, who are facing significant financial challenges. This program provides crucial housing assistance to individuals and families who have experienced income reduction or loss of resources due to the COVID-19 emergency and its related consequences. Important Information about CHAP
The level of housing assistance provided through the Cares Housing Assistance Program Nevada is contingent upon the availability of CARES Act grant funding. Assistance amounts will also be determined based on an individual assessment of each household’s needs. It’s important to note that applications for the CHAP program will be accepted by designated providers until all available funds are fully distributed. Therefore, eligible residents are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
Who is Qualified for CARES Housing Assistance Program Nevada Funds?
To be eligible for the CARES Housing Assistance Program Nevada, applicants must be current residents of Clark County, NV, and they must clearly demonstrate how they have been financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. It is important to note that individuals who are already receiving housing subsidies from other rental assistance programs or who currently reside in public housing are not eligible for CHAP.

To determine eligibility for the CARES Housing Assistance Program Nevada through one of the listed agencies, applicants must provide the necessary documentation. Please note that the following list is not exhaustive, and additional documentation may be requested:
Proof of Identity
- Valid Photo ID
Proof of COVID-19 Impact (Submit One of the Following)
- Minimum of 2 recent pay stubs showing a clear reduction in income compared to pre-COVID earnings.
- Official Unemployment benefits confirmation documents (such as a copy of a benefit check or an official confirmation letter).
- Formal statement from your Employer detailing the impact of COVID-19 on your employment and income.
Current Lease Agreement
Proof of Housing Need
- Landlord Verification Form (This form will be provided to you by your assigned CHAP Provider).
- Official Default Letter or Notice from your landlord.
- Recent Utility bill (Please note: utility bills payable to governmental entities are not accepted).
