Davidson Career Transition Program: Your Partner in Career Success

The Davidson Career Transition Program (DCTP) is a testament to Davidson United Methodist Church’s commitment to holistic community care. This program, a joint effort with Davidson College Presbyterian Church (DCPC), is specifically designed to empower individuals through job transitions. Whether you are unemployed, seeking a career change, or aiming for professional growth, DCTP offers valuable resources and personalized support.

What DCTP Offers: Workshops and Coaching

DCTP provides practical workshops held monthly, except in July, in the Alexander Education Building of DUMC. These workshops cover essential aspects of job searching, including:

  • Career Strategies: Developing effective approaches to your job search.
  • Networking: Building and leveraging professional connections.
  • Resume Building: Crafting compelling resumes that highlight your strengths.
  • Interview Skills: Mastering techniques to excel in job interviews.
  • Offer Negotiation: Gaining confidence in negotiating job offers.

Beyond workshops, DCTP offers one-on-one coaching with experienced volunteers. These retired and semi-retired professionals bring a wealth of industry knowledge and are dedicated to guiding you through every step of your career transition. While DCTP is not a placement service or job board, it equips you with the tools and strategies needed to conduct a successful job search. The program also invites guest speakers from relevant fields to further enhance the learning experience.
