Premier Emergency Care Program in Brooklyn: Training Future Medical Leaders

The Brooklyn Hospital Center stands at the forefront of emergency medicine, offering a robust and comprehensive Emergency Medicine Residency Program. As the first emergency residency program in Brooklyn, we have a long-standing tradition of training exceptional emergency physicians since 1989. Our mission is to cultivate compassionate, patient-centered physicians equipped to deliver outstanding and culturally sensitive emergency care to the diverse community of Brooklyn and beyond.

Our four-year program, fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), is designed to provide residents with an unparalleled educational experience. We emphasize the application of current, scientific, and patient-focused clinical practices through a variety of innovative teaching methods. Our dedicated faculty are committed to ensuring that our residents not only master clinical skills but also understand the broader healthcare system, promoting safe and cost-effective care delivery.

Leading our program is a team of highly experienced and dedicated professionals:

  • Mollie Williams, MD, MPH, Program Director: Dr. Williams is passionate about resident education and fosters a supportive learning environment, committed to academic rigor and resident well-being.
  • Holly Thompson, MD, FACEP, FAAEM, Associate Program Director: Dr. Thompson contributes her expertise in emergency medicine and medical education to enhance the residency experience and resident development.

Our graduates emerge as leaders in the field, prepared to tackle any challenge in emergency medicine.

The Brooklyn Hospital Center itself is a 464-bed, full-service teaching hospital strategically located in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, near Downtown Brooklyn.
