A significant step in this direction is the James Reese Career and Technical Center, a state-of-the-art facility established to offer advanced Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs. The James Reese Career and Technical Center opens doors to a wide array of James Reese Career And Technical Center Programs, accessible to high school students from all eleven FBISD high schools. These programs are meticulously designed across multiple career pathways, ensuring students can explore their interests and develop specialized skills in fields such as:
- Agriculture and Natural Resources: Programs focused on sustainable agriculture, environmental science, and natural resource management.

A key feature of the James Reese Career and Technical Center programs is the opportunity for students to earn industry-recognized certifications and dual college credit in select program areas. Students attend classes at the Reese Center for part of their day, utilizing district-provided transportation and remaining active members of their home high school campuses.
Beyond high school programs, the James Reese Center extends its reach to younger students and the wider community. Elementary and middle school students benefit from field trips and district-wide programs at the center, introducing them to diverse career possibilities early in their education. Starting in the summer of 2020, the center also began offering educational programs for adult community members, facilitating career advancement and personal enrichment. Furthermore, the center partners with local businesses to provide space for professional training, strengthening the link between education and industry.
The center is named in honor of James Reese, a dedicated educator who served Fort Bend ISD for 33 years. Beginning as a math teacher, Mr. Reese became the district’s first Vocational Director from 1970 to 1985 and also pioneered Distributive Education in FBISD. His commitment to vocational training and career readiness has left a lasting legacy, perfectly embodied by the state-of-the-art center bearing his name.
