Application Method

For those interested in the McLaren Port Huron Internal Medicine Residency Program, please note that for all MATCH seasons except 2025, applications are exclusively processed through the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) National Resident Match Program (NRMP) and the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). We do not accept paper applications.

Essential Application Documents

To ensure your application to the Mclaren Health Care Corporation Program Family Medicine Residency is complete, please prepare the following documents:

  • A comprehensive ERAS Application submitted within the designated timeframe.
  • A detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV) outlining your academic and professional history.
  • Submission of 3 or more medical school letters of recommendation to support your candidacy.
  • Proof of passing scores on USMLE Step 1, Step 2 CK, and Step 2 CS, or COMLEX Step 1 and Step 2, which must be completed before medical school graduation.
  • For international medical graduates, an ECFMG certificate is mandatory at the commencement of Residency.

Residency Selection Process

The resident selection committee diligently reviews each application. Applicants who successfully meet or exceed our outlined criteria will be considered for an interview.

Our program seeks eligible applicants who demonstrate strong preparedness, capability, aptitude, solid academic records, effective communication skills, and commendable personal attributes, including motivation and integrity.

Interview Details

Interviews for the McLaren Health Care Corporation Program Family Medicine Residency will be conducted in a virtual format exclusively. Applicants who fulfill the selection criteria will be contacted to schedule interviews. Communication will be facilitated through Thalamus or via email. Interviews are typically scheduled throughout November, December, and January. During the interview process, candidates will have valuable opportunities to engage with our Program Director and esteemed faculty members.
