The MGL internal medicine residency offers a comprehensive educational journey focused on the diagnosis and management of conditions within internal medicine and its various sub-specialties. Our curriculum is thoughtfully structured to provide residents with progressively increasing responsibilities, ensuring a robust understanding of Internal Medicine upon graduation. Residents gain specialized training across a broad spectrum of fields, including Cardiology, Emergency Medicine, Critical Care, Pulmonology, Rheumatology, Nephrology, Gastroenterology, Neurology, Infectious Disease, Geriatrics, and Hematology/Oncology.

Graduates of our program possess the essential clinical and procedural expertise to confidently pursue sub-specialty training or enter independent practice. The McLaren Greater Lansing Internal Medicine Residency Program integrates residents into clinical research, offering opportunities to participate in ongoing faculty projects or develop their own scholarly endeavors under faculty mentorship. Each resident is expected to engage in at least one scholarly project annually, fostering a culture of academic inquiry.

Our aim is to cultivate competent general internists who embody a strong work ethic and professional conduct, setting them up for success in both academic and private clinical environments. The program is dedicated to equipping physicians to achieve board certification within two years of commencing their practice, marking the culmination of their rigorous and rewarding residency experience.
