Program Overview
ECU’s MS in Rehabilitation Counseling is a 62-credit hour program, fully accredited by CACREP, ensuring the highest standards in counselor education. Typically completed in two years of full-time study, the curriculum blends rigorous classroom instruction with practical clinical experiences, personal counseling exploration, and hands-on activities. A cornerstone of the program is a 600-hour rehabilitation counseling internship under the supervision of a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), providing invaluable real-world application of your learning.
A key requirement for graduation is successfully passing the Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) exam prior to commencing your internship (eligibility requires completion of 75% of coursework). Detailed information can be found in the Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling Student Manual (PDF) and on the CRC website.
